Celebrating diversity, inclusion, and our multicultural community

Participation

We are looking for families to celebrate our diversity here at Martin Sortun. Families can participate by bringing a traditional food item, beverage item, perform a dance, song, participate in a fashion show with cultural clothing or create a presentation about their culture. Signup forms will be sent home with students and also linked here: 

Video Submissions

Part of our Festival of Cultures this year, we are showcasing a video montage of everyone's submissions. You can help by submitting a 1:00 video of you wearing something to represent your culture or heritage. 
1. Begin the recording by introducing yourself (name, teacher and grade) and please tell us what culture or heritage you identify with
2. Wear your traditional clothing and model it. Please tell us 1-2 things about the clothing.
3. Share a culture artifact or item from your culture or background. Why is it important to you?
4. Teach us a special greeting or phrase in your language. What does it mean?
